Top touristy spots in Dubai
- Burj Khalifa
The Burj Khalifa tourist attraction also called Burj Dubai before the inauguration, it is the tallest building in the world currently. It was open in 2010, it is 828 m high and 163 floors. Also, it is home to 300 rooms. One of the restaurants in the building is 442 meters high from the ground.
How you get there:
The easiest way is to jump in the metro. The metro station is actually called Dubai Mall/Burj Khalifa. From the metro station to the Burj you will walk through a long passage and then half a mall making the walk 20-30 minutes long. The entry is from level LG (level ground)
Costs:

Advice:
For spectacular views consider visiting the Burj Khalifa in the evening time. Also at night time, the Dubai Mall fountains start their shows so you can catch quite a glimpse from above.
2. The Dubai Fountains
If you want to be really impressed, the Dubai Fountain is a must-see. The fountain’s water jets reach 150 meters high and are colored and highlighted simultaneously accords to specific musical themes.
Two shows take place in the afternoon (at 13:00 and 13:30, except Friday when the times are 13:30- 14:00). The rest start at sunset and take place every 30 minutes until 23:00.
3. Palm Jumeirah
Palm Jumeirah is one of the biggest artificial islands in the world and is shaped like a palm tree. Many hotels are located on the island like Waldorf Astoria, Fairmont, One&Only, and Atlantis.
How to get there
You can pick up a monorail and travel along the stem of the palm up to the very end – where you will find Atlantis The Palm.
Cost:
The monorail cost is very cheap and can be purchased cash only! The round trip is around 6 dollars.
4. Dubai Desert
Another attraction that must be on your list is the Dubai Desert.
How to get there:
You can get there either on your own, renting a car. The trip takes about 50 minutes. Otherwise, you can contact one of the many companies that facilitate desert trips. Try Yalabanana website for promotional prices.
Costs:
For a complete Dubai Safari experience, you should be pay around 100 Dhs- 25 dollars. This includes the trip, dune bashing, camel riding, henna painting, drinks, meals, live entertainment, and belly dances.
5. The Sheikh Zayed Mosque
Not exactly in Dubai, but in Abu Dhabi, a short hour-long ride, you can witness one of the biggest mosques in the world, easily fitting 40000 people.
Costs:
The mosque access is free. You will be provided with appropriate attire and head coverings before entering the mosque.
6. The Emirates Palace Hotel
Keeping close to Abu Dhabi, it would be a shame not to visit the Emirate Palace hotel, a true spectacle for the eyes of its visitors. Both the interior and exterior are boosting amazing architecture and you can find the most luxurious coffee shops where you can enjoy a rich tea or refreshments while live music is provided.
7. Dubai Marina
The marina side of Dubai is home for the tallest apartment buildings in the world and the area looks like a real metropolis. 8. Madinat Jumeirah

9. Old Dubai
All the opulence can be overwhelming but a short boat trip away, or abra in Dubai, you can cross the canal into the old part of the city. The occasion will also give you the change to visit the gold and spice souks(markets) where you can buy or window shop for the most outrageous gold jewelry.
How to get there and costs
You can jump in the metro but we recommend taking an abra across the canal for the price of 1 dirham (about 25 cents).
10. Dubai Frame
For an eagle view of both the new and old parts of Dubai, you can choose to visit one of the newest attractions in Dubai. The Dubai frame is a frame-shaped building giving it’s visitors the change to admire the old part of the city and the new metropolis at the same time. More information here.
How to get there:
We recommend either a metro ride or for a more convenient way just grab a cab. Cabs rides are affordable in Dubai considering the long distances.

The fee to enter the Frame is 50 dhs, about 10 dollars for adults and 5 dollars for kids.
