When all the planet is thinking about the next holiday, we are blessed to receive good news. Dubai is on the 11th place out of 200 of the safest countries to visit in these times, according to a study made by Forbes.
The United Arab Emirates ranked lower than China or South Korea but way better than Canada, Norway, Iceland, USA, UK, France, or Oman. The ranking was built taking into consideration more than 130 factors from how efficient were the quarantine methods to how prepared the medical system is such a crisis.
The first place was given to Switzerland, which received a total of 752 points. The study researchers give the reasoning of such a high score, to be a result of extremely efficient quarantine measures. Also, the country’s economy made resisting this pandemic way easier, therefore, the economic perspectives regarding the crisis surpass are very promissing.
Looking at the top 10, we notice that no Arabic country made it, making UAE a definite winner situated on the 11th position, the ranking being dominated by Asian countries plus New Zealanda and Australia , all of them surpassing the crisis more quickly.
Dubai ranking on the 11th position
The UAE, Dubai included is situated in the 11th position below Germany, Singapore, or Japan but surpassing Brasil, Belgium, UK Russia, or America.
Why didn’t we get a higher ranking? The explanation is found in the fact that even if Dubai receives more points in quarantine efficiency or governmental actions, it still received fewer points for monitoring and detection and the medical preparedness for such an emergency case.
Also representative is the restrictive measures, the length of the enforcement of the restrictions, the support offered to the population, or the actual fees that were applied in case of not complying.
The researchers from Deep Knowledge, who made this analysis, say that countries like France, USA or UK are a surprise for their low rankings, but this only serves to show us that the main factor influencing the stability and safety of the region is not the sophistication of the medical system in non-pandemic times, but more like the ability of the authorities to build strategies and management tactics in crisis situations.
